Hungry Squirrel ("we," "us," "our") operates the Hungry Squirrel mobile application and website (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our marketplace connecting food lovers with local, home-cooked meals and treats.

1. Information We Collect

  • •Account & Profile Information: Name, email address, phone number, display name, profile photo, and bio you provide when registering or editing your profile.
  • •Listing & Order Information: Dish listings (title, description, price, photos, cuisine, dietary tags, availability), pickup/delivery addresses, delivery instructions, order history, quantities, and fulfillment dates.
  • •Payment Information: Payment method preferences (Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, CashApp, cash) and related handles/emails. We do not store full payment account credentials; transactions occur directly between buyer and seller.
  • •Location Data: Approximate or precise device location used to show nearby dishes, calculate delivery radius, and enable live seller location sharing during fulfillment.
  • •Communications: Messages between buyers and sellers, order notes, complaint descriptions, ratings, and referral data.
  • •Device & Usage Data: Device identifiers, OS version, app version, IP address, crash logs, and interaction analytics to improve the Service.
  • •Photos & Evidence: Profile photos, dish photos, and complaint evidence images/videos you upload.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • •To create and manage your account and verify your identity.
  • •To display listings, process orders, and coordinate pickup/delivery.
  • •To send order reminders, daily notifications, and window reminders via SMS or email.
  • •To enable messaging, ratings, complaints, and dispute resolution.
  • •To enforce commission tracking, referral programs, and no-show/reputation policies.
  • •To detect fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
  • •To comply with legal obligations and provide customer support.

3. SMS Communications

  • •By agreeing to the Terms of Service, you consent to receive recurring SMS reminders about your upcoming food orders, pickups, deliveries, and sales. Message frequency varies. Standard message and data rates may apply. You can opt out by disabling reminders in your Profile settings or replying STOP to any SMS. Reply HELP for help. We do not sell your phone number or use it for marketing without consent.

4. Information Sharing & Disclosure

  • •Between Users: Sellers and buyers can see each other's display names, listings, pickup/delivery addresses (when relevant), and messages.
  • •Service Providers: Third parties that help us operate (hosting, SMS via Twilio, analytics, email delivery) may access data under confidentiality obligations.
  • •Legal Compliance: We may disclose data to authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property.
  • •Business Transfers: In a merger or asset sale, data may transfer to the successor entity.
  • •With Your Consent: Any other sharing requires your explicit permission.
  • •We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention

  • •We retain account data while your account is active. Order, complaint, and reputation data may be retained to enforce policies and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account via the Profile page; certain records may be kept for legal or safety reasons.

6. Data Security

  • •We use encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security to protect your data. However, no system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your password and payment handles accurate; we are not liable for misdirected payments due to incorrect details.

7. Your Privacy Rights

8. Children's Privacy

  • •The app uses local storage and analytics SDKs to remember preferences and measure usage. You can manage tracking through your device settings.
